How to install NitoTV on Apple TV Original (1G)
This is a quick and easy tutorial on how to install NitoTV onto the Apple TV 1G, this program is needed in order to enable external storage.

In order to install NitoTV, your Apple TV must be jailbroken, for a tutorial on how to do this, click here.
Step 1. Navigate over to ‘Software Menu’ along the menu of your Apple TV.
Note: this menu will only be there if you have jailbroken your Apple TV

Step 2. Under Software Menu, select ’3rd Party’
Step 3. Click on NitoTV, and select download.
The Apple TV will now download the installation file, once this is complete it will be installed.
Step 4. Restart your Apple TV
Once the download and installation has complete, simply hold down the Menu and ‘-’ button on your remote to restart your Apple TV. Great, NitoTV will now be installed!
Or, Install NitoTV Manually
Open Terminal on your computer, then enter the following commands
ssh frontrow@AppleTV.local
Password is: frontrow – please note, for security reasons this will not be shown as you type it
wget http://nitosoft.com/nitoTVInstaller_tt.zip
unzip nitoTVInstaller_tt.zip
cd “nitoTV Take Three”/
sudo ./installme

there seems to be a general problem with software menu and 3rd party software. I get the same error after activating this submenu. nobody seems to have a solution for this or even an answer.
Hi guys…

Hi Lillojack,
Thanks for your comment. What problem are you having? Are you having issues with the software menu? If you explain the problem I can try and replicate it and solve it on my Apple TV 1G at home.
Cheers
