How to Install Crackle on AppleTV2 [Tutorial]
Just over a week ago, the official iOS application for Crackle was released for iPhone and iPad and now it has been ported to the Apple TV 2G. Crackle is free app from Sony entertainment that hosts tons of movies and TV show episodes streaming free.
How To Install Crackle App On Apple TV 2:
Step 1.
Download this zip file ( Do not extract, just leave it as a .zip file )
Step 2.
Jailbreak your Apple TV 2 and install XBMC… the easiest way to install is through Seas0nPass ( Install guide )
Step 3.
Once NitoTV / XBMC are installed, you have to upload the downloaded zip file to your AppleTV.
(Use either an AFC2 app or openSSH to make an SFTP connection to the AppleTV’s IP address (given in ATV’s settings),
username ‘root’ password ‘alpine’ (default for ATV)
Step 4:
Put the .zip file in the following folder
/private/var/mobile/Media
Step 5:
Once done, launch XBMC on your ATV. Go to settings > Addons Manager > Install from zip file (it’s in there somewhere…easy to find).
Step 6:
Once done, just install Crackle and that’s it.
NOTE: Crackle content is available only in US, Canada, United Kingdom and Australia; and content varies by territory
NOTE: if you run into a wall with Crackle, try installing the XBMC nightly build over the current stable release. Not too many people have this issues, but we did, and this is how we fixed it.

Can you expand a bit on step three and four. I am not that familiar with terminal and ssh.
Any help would be appreciated.
Crackle keeps crashing when the movie start, I even uploaded nightly version and still the same. Any ideas?
@JD717 – Try the FileZilla client to SFTP the file over to the Apple TV. Once you download and install FileZilla, it’s pretty self explanatory. Just enter the IP of your ATV, username and password, and connect to it. Then use the FileZilla interface to transfer the file over to the specified folder on the ATV. Good luck!
Thanks, I was trying to use terminal, I had already installed plex and nito tv and thought it would work the same way.

After i install the .zip file,it completed the install. but i dont see the anything related to crackle. Where can I find crackle to install it?
Just follow the instructions and then run XBMC. Crackle is a plugin for XBMC so you have to open XBMC to access it
I have the same problem.. where do i find it in xbmc? can’t see it anywhere!

Ice Films works straight away following the steps but Crackle does not want to load even though everything appears OK on the screen
once I logged on ssh client how do I transfer the zip file to appletv..im confused???
On the side with the AppleTV files navigate to the folder:
/private/var/mobile/Media
And on the side with your computer files drag the zip file to the folder above.
