Here is the guide to untether jailbreak Apple TV2 iOS 4.3 with Seas0nPass.
Before you proceed with the jailbreak, you will need the following:

- Download Seas0nPass: Mac [10.6 or later] | Windows [XP or later]
- A micro USB cable will be required to complete the jailbreak.
- Disconnect all iPods, iPhones, and iPads from the computer before running Seas0nPass.
Step 1: Unzip the ‘Seas0nPass.zip’ file and launch Seas0nPass.
Step 2: You will see a screen as below, select ‘Create IPSW’.
Step 3: The latest AppleTV software will be downloaded and used to create a custom ‘jailbroken’ software file.
Step 4: You will get a prompt to connect your AppleTV to USB, then connect Apple TV using a micro-USB cable (leave power disconnected), and hold both the ‘MENU’ and ‘PLAY/PAUSE’ buttons for 7 seven seconds.
Step 5: iTunes will open automatically and start the restore process.
Step 6: iTunes will confirm the restore when complete – your AppleTV is now jailbroken.
Once complete, remove the USB cable and connect the HDMI cable.

I followed instructions for jailbreaking apple tv 2. All went OK except iTunes fails to restore.
Trying to force restoring with the new made IPSW, a message appear saying:
“this device isnt eligible for the requested build”
Can you help?
That means you are using the wrong firmware version
I had the same thing happen but how could it be the wrong firmware when the program creates it itself.
I mean you are using the wrong firmware version from the get-go. You must use the most recent firmware available for the ATV which is 4.3, you cannot use any earlier firmware or you will get the “device isnt eligible for the requested build” error.
So how do make sure I have the right firmware to begin with ?
Just download the latest firmware
