How to install NitoTV on Apple TV Original (1G)

This is a quick and easy tutorial on how to install NitoTV onto the Apple TV 1G, this program is needed in order to enable external storage.

In order to install NitoTV, your Apple TV must be jailbroken, for a tutorial on how to do this, click here.

Step 1. Navigate over to ‘Software Menu’ along the menu of your Apple TV.

Note: this menu will only be there if you have jailbroken your Apple TV

Step 2. Under Software Menu, select ’3rd Party’

Step 3. Click on NitoTV, and select download.

How to install Exposed – VNC client for Apple TV 2G

This is a quick and easy tutorial on how to install a client called Exposed onto the Apple TV 2G. This allows you to control your Apple TV via VNC from your computer. Please not your Apple TV must already be jailbroken for this to work. Click here to do this.

Exposed for Apple TV 2G

Install Instructions for iOS 4.1 (Apple TV 4.0)

Open Terminal on your Mac and enter the following commands:

ssh root@apple-tv.local

wget http://brandon-holland.com/downloads/software/exposed-0.1-armv7.tar.gz

tar fxpz exposed-0.1-armv7.tar.gz -C /Applications/Lowtide.app/Appliances/

killall -9 Lowtide

Install Instructions iOS 4.2+ (Apple TV 4.1, 4.1.1)

Open Terminal on your Mac and enter the following commands:

ssh root@apple-tv.local

enter password, default password will be alpine

wget http://brandon-holland.com/downloads/software/exposed-0.1-armv7.tar.gz

tar fxpz exposed-0.1-armv7.tar.gz -C /Applications/AppleTV.app/Appliances/

killall -9 AppleTV

This is a tutorial on how to install NitoTV (the first ever application for the Apple TV 2G) on your already jailbroken Apple TV 2G.

How to:

Step 1. Please plug your Apple TV into your TV and turn it on, please also ensure that it is connected to your network. This can ether be done using the built in WIFI or ethernet connection.
